Connecting Google Analytics in Power BI

Before we begin, you will need to have a Google Analytics account and a Power BI account. If you don’t have these accounts, you can create them for free.

Once you have your accounts set up, follow these steps to connect Google Analytics in Power BI:

  1. Open Power BI Desktop and click on “Get Data” in the Home tab.


  2. In the “Get Data” window, select “Google Analytics” under the “Online Services” category. Click “Connect” to proceed.


  3. In the “Google Analytics” window, enter your Google Analytics account information and click “Sign In.”

  4. After signing in, select “2.0(Beta)” option to see both Universal and GA4 properties. After you’ll be able to select the website you want to analyze and click “Connect.”



  5. In the “Navigator” window, select the data you want to import into Power BI. You can choose from a variety of options, such as Sessions, Users, Pageviews, and more. Once you’ve selected your data, click “Load” to import it into Power BI.


  6. You can now start analyzing your Google Analytics data in Power BI.
